Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) is an important organic compound, which is in the form of a white powder with a molecular formula of C6H4(CO2H)2. Its self ignition point is 680 ℃ and the ignition point is 384-421 ℃. It has low toxicity and has a certain irritant effect on the skin and mucous membranes. It can dissolve in hot ethanol and alkaline solutions. Purified Terephthalic Acid is obtained through petroleum processing, extraction, and reaction, mainly used to produce polyester, which is a key raw material for the production of chemical fiber products, including polyester fibers (polyester), polyester films, and polyester bottle sheets.

Purified Terephthalic Acid is mainly used in the production of polyester, such as polyester fibers (polyester), polyester films, and polyester bottle chips, among other chemical fiber products. It can also be used as a key raw material for other important chemical products. In other applications, PTA can also be used to produce poly (p-phenylene terephthalamide) (PBT), which is a polymer material with excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance, and electrical characteristics. In addition, it can also serve as a raw material for plasticizers and an intermediate for dyes.
